BrokenCartons has its roots deeply planted in the paper, printing and recycling industries since the late 60's. After decades of struggling with the difficulties of purchasing small quantities of paper and envelopes, we decided a better solution was needed.
Printing papers are usually sold in "full cartons" only. If a job requires a small amount or "broken carton", you may still have to buy a full carton and run the risk of leftovers sitting on the shelve. When forced to purchase more paper than you need, what do you do with your overstock?

How long have you been in business?
We came up with the idea of BrokenCartons on August 4, 2010. After several years of negotiating we purchased the domain (BrokenCartons.com), secured the technology needed for an e-commerce marketplace and raised close to $100,000 for web development. We started work in 2012 and launched BrokenCartons.com June 1, 2015.
What is your primary product or service?
BrokenCartons.com helps members BUY and SELL discounted paper & envelopes, packaging & supplies, parts & equipment relating to the Paper & Printing industries.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I am a 30 year veteran of the Graphic Arts with experience in Typography, Layout & Design, Pre-press, Color Management, Retouching, Paper and Printing. I am also president at High Mountain Graphics, a small format offset & digital printing company located in Northern New Jersey.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We care about our environment and it reflect in our business model. Most printers "recycle" excess inventory. BrokenCartons extends the lifecycle of paper products by helping members SELL unwanted inventory.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently we operate on the internet as an e-commerce marketplace. We are planning on opening a paper warehouse in Northern New Jersey in late 2016.
